Starting in the 2026 season—our 10th!—I am pleased offer the new Sheography™ Sheolarship™. This discount is awarded annually to one woman interested in furthering her education in outdoor photography. One recipient will receive a $500 USD discount to attend one 2026 Sheography™ photography workshop (subject to availability).
We’re considering seeking 501(c)(3) non-profit status to enable tax deductible donations in future years. Should you wish to make a contribution to support this award, please contact Colleen to discuss.
Eligibility
Open to all women ages 18-118 with an interest in outdoor photography
Application Requirements
Applications will be accepted starting in June 2025. Applicants should:
Complete the Sheolarship™ application below.
Submit a portfolio of 8 photographs (no more, no less) that best represent your current work to colleen@colleenminiuk.com with the subject line “[Your Full Name] Sheolarship Application”. Images submitted should be in JPG format sized to no bigger than 1500 px on the longest side. Non-intrusive watermarks are acceptable.
Incomplete application submissions or submissions that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered.
Judging Criteria
Distribution of funds is based on a recipient’s merit, financial need, and motivation/potential for growth.
Application Deadline
Applications are accepted anytime of the year. However, for consideration for the following year, all applications must be received on or before 11:59 pm on November 1, 2025

The Fine Print
By submitting an application, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to the following:
ALL information collected in the Sheloarship™ application will remain strictly confidential. Only the judges involved in reviewing the applications will have access to the applicant’s information.
The $500 award will be applied to the selected workshop’s fee (and not distributed to the recipient directly). Recipient agrees to pay for the remainder of the workshop fee, travel expenses to/from/during the workshop, single room supplements (if chosen), and anything explicitly not included in the workshop (as outlined on the workshop’s registration page).
If the recipient is unable to attend the workshop for which they register, the $500 discount may be applied to a future workshop (subject to availability) within the subsequent 12 months. The $500 discount may not be transferred to another person.
If selected, the recipient agrees to provide Colleen Miniuk/Sheography™ with a headshot and bio to use in Sheography’s™ promotional purposes (including website, social media, and print).
Current registrants who have paid a deposit for a Sheography workshop may apply. If selected, registrants will receive a $500 discount
Previous scholarship winners may apply for future scholarships, but priority will be given to those who have not attended a previous Sheography workshop.
Decisions of the judges are final.
